Temples in Turuvekere

*Sri.Gangadhareshwara Temple

Sri.Gangadhareshwara Temple at Turuvekere, is unique in its kind. The unique difference here, the Shiva Idol is carved with Ganga sitting on top of his head and one can see fountains of water being flowing in the form Prabhavali.
It is the only temple which is having such depiction of Ganga and Shiva being together. Also, the Uthsava Murthy made out of Bronze is having an extra eye on the right foot, which also is a unique in nature.

In front of the temple, one can find beautifully carved Nandi which is aroun 7+ feet in height which is decorated with bells and belt carved with unique design. The sitting Nandi is being polished to such an extent that one can see the reflection in it. Also, the idol is very much intact and not being ruined anywhere.

The other attraction in the temple is a bell made out of rock, which is around 2 feet in diameter and one can get the ringing sound by using rock or any metal piece.
Just below the bell is the carving of Bedara Kannappa offering his eyes to Lord Shiva, this carving is not found anywhere in other temples.

Sri.Channakeshava Temple at Anekere, is beautifully restored under the able Guidance of Sri.Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Sri.Veerendra Hegde in recent years.

The entrance of the temple is beautifully carved with pillars and place to sit.
The temple is built in Hoysala style and has a big open space around the temple.
On the top of the temple, one can find finely carved Kalasha which is unique in its style and is of the biggest in size.

A smaller version of the same Kalasha can be found at Koravangala and Doddagaddavalli as well.
